A History of Elizabeth Township, Miami County, Ohio
by Ben Sutherly with Carol Mumford
This is a beautifully bound, comprehensive history of Elizabeth Township from its earliest days through its publication in 1998. The book encompasses stories of the frontier, early settlers, pioneer families, churches, organizations, township schools, and a comprehensive pictorial listing of every historic property in the township.
The George Carver Diaries
Written by George Carver from April 1, 1882-February 5, 1933. Carver was a miller and farmer by trade who owned and ran the woolen mill on what is now Walnut Grove Road. Carefully and lovingly transcribed by ETHS member, Sue Curtis, it is very interesting to any history buff of the life and times in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It will be especially interesting to anyone with ties to the community and its people of that time, as it mentions many community members.
Vintage Betsy Bearcats T-shirts
Elizabeth Township High School sported the orange and black “Betsy Bearcat” mascot for many years. These tees were made for our Elizabeth Township Softball Teams using a Elizabeth Bearcat logo from the 1940s. We have tees in both black and orange with various sizes from adult small, medium, large, and extra-large. We have a few orange tees in 2XL.
